STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS NOV. 23, 2014

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS -  7TH EDITION

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from STREETCORNER.  We hope that you have a blessed Thanksgiving shared with friends and family.

With the holiday season creeping up on us so quickly I thought I would share with you a little window to a great early Christmas party STREETCORNER performed at yesterday.  It was a great afternoon at Colleen's Irish Pub in St. Clair Shores.  We shared the stage with a couple of other performers including Rick and Dana Lieder of the Rick Lieder Band.  Rick also performs with another group called The Magic Bus.  They do a lot of 60's and 70's music and believe me they are good.  Also singing yesterday was Joe Toth.  Joe sings with several other groups and was previously with STREETCORNER.  He has a fabulous voice and is always awesome to listen to.

The afternoon was a great kick off to the upcoming holiday season.

Here are a few shots of your favorite MoTown group.

Can you say "Rockin Robin"  and " Duke of Earl" ??

The audience was a great group of fun loving people that love STREETCORNER  with many of them  being followers for many, many years.

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS, NOVEMBER 17, 2014

Hello and Welcome to your very own private inside track to STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS.

This is the place to get all the inside scoop as to what's going on with your favorite MoTown group.

This past Saturday, Nov. 15 STREETCORNER was at G. Subu's in Livonia.

"Oh What A Night",  ...............it was both Family Night and Anniversary Night.
The very best part of it was that these great people wanted to share the evening
with STREETCORNER.

STREETCORNER'S  Evelyn invited her family to join us for a great musical evening.
What a fantastic group of people they are.  They danced and partied and danced some more.
Evelyn's 87 year old Daddy was there to join in on the fun.  You could tell he was truly enjoying the evening and watching his beautiful daughter sing to him.

Look at this adorable man !!

He was having a great time !!  Go Daddy Go.
How awesome that her entire family wanted to party with us.

Happy Anniversary Nicki and Chester.  They wanted to spend their 4th Wedding Anniversary with their STREETCORNER friends.  We hope you have 40 additional years to love and grow together.

I'm so glad that Brenda and Mary came to celebrate the evening with them.
Mary is a little camera shy.............so here is our friend Brenda with the happy couple.

STREETCORNER is truly blessed to have so many wonderful and faithful friends.
We love seeing all of you.

WOWIE ZOWIE.......did STREETCORNER ever Rock !!
If it hadn't been so chilly outside, I am certain there would have been some "Dancin In The Street".
Well, at least I know that  I personally would have joined those very Brave Souls.

We had a wonderful time as usual.  Please think about joining us on Nov. 29, Saturday at
Airway Lanes in Waterford.  4825 Highland Rd. (M59).  We always have a great time there.
They not only have bowling available, but also a pool table and darts along with the finest entertainment AKA STREETCORNER.  We will be there from 8:30 - 12:30.

We welcome your comments and thoughts.  If you would like to drop us a note please do so as all mail is read and welcome.

Thank you for being a loyal friend of STREETCORNER.   You are valued and appreciated.

I look forward to bringing you the next edition of STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS.

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS , NOVEMBER 10, 2014

Hello and Welcome to the 6th edition of
                                                   " STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS"

Thank you for following STREETCORNER, Michigan's Best Classic MoTown Group.
We are always excited to know that you are reading about us and welcome your comments.

This past Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 we spent in Kalamazoo, Mi. at the
Michigan Festivals & Events Association & Foundation 22nd Annual Convention.
The convention was held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel.  Bobby and I stayed there overnight to avoid the drive home after a 9:30 pm performance.  Some of the group also stayed, while others opted to make the evening return home drive.

STREETCORNER was represented by Agent, David Pace who made all of the arrangements for us. David had an awesome booth set up to display our video, a poster, CD's, DVD's, and literature.
He did a wonderful job of representing us and we are so grateful.  This gave us a wonderful opportunity to meet with so many wonderful people that arrange their festivals and events for the coming year.  We had a ball !!

As you can see by the pictures, we had so much fun and met some great people that were there scheduling their entertainment for 2015.
This lovely lady was one of the members of a committee that selects entertainment for her area.

STREETCORNER put on an engaging performance that was high energy and made the entire convention hall want to "Jump Jive and Wail".  .........Well, actually they did.

Holy Rock n Roll....they were even dancing with the dummy. Wow !

"Oh What A Night" it was.  STREETCORNER really Wowed them.

Our very own Les at his best. The ladies always swoon over his deep voice.  Oh yes they do indeed !!

This is our Evelyn and her fiancé Kevan having fun after the STREETCORNER performance.
It was time to relax and have a good time.

Can you say SOCK HOP ?
After the Showcase was over there was a Sock Hop.  Oh My !!!
Bobby & I remember going to Sock Hops in the past, but this was slightly different.  But, then again I would imagine that was because we were on the older side of the crowd.
But we stayed.......and danced.....and danced....and danced some more.

No that isn't us.

                                                           This looks more like it.

The show was fantastic and we would like to thank David Pace for inviting STREETCORNER to be represented by his agency and showcase their talents.

I hope you continue to follow STREETCORNER and our STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS.
My name is Jackie and I look forward to bringing you the next edition.

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS, NOVEMBER 3, 2014

Welcome to the 5th edition of our new blog.
"STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS"

It is always my pleasure to bring to you all of the newest and most up to date happenings for our favorite classic MoTown and Doo Wop group.

I'm Jackie and I just want to tell you that while it isn't easy selecting selecting the best pictures, or capturing all of the moments on film, it really is inspiring writing this blog every week.  I have the greatest respect and love for each and every member of our family group, STREETCORNER.
Unique, dedicated, talented, and passionate are four of the adjectives I can easily use to describe each personality.

Last Saturday, November 1,  STREETCORNER was at Airway Lanes in Waterford.
Can you say.....   OH WHAT A NIGHT?
We were....DANCIN IN THE STREET.............well not exactly in the street, but certainly all over the dance floor.

How awesome to have a following of friends that are more than willing to drive long distances just to spend the evening with us.

Here are a few pictures of some of our dear friends that bore the chilly weather, battled the falling leaves and took the leap to come out to see us.

Here we have our very own "The lovely Evelyn" chatting with my sweet and dear friend Jan Pankoff.

Breni Whitehead and Jan are great supporters of STREETCORNER and awesome dance partners for me, Jackie while my Bob Carroll is singing.

We love these ladies.  Thanks for spending your evening with us.

Did you know that Bob and I won a "Dance Contest" once?  The funny thing is that we didn't even know we had entered it until they announced that Couple #1 was the winner.  Wow, that was us.

Well, back to the present.............................

Did I mention that Chuck Runyon AKA a former member of STREETCORNER came out on Saturday to Airway Lanes?   Hey, this guy can really sing.
He jumped in to sing "Don't Play it No More" with the group and as Dan would say "Owned It".
Chuck is another talented performer that is not only gifted but a great man as well.
It's a pleasure to know him.

STREETCORNER AT THEIR VERY FINEST.

THE MAGNIFICENT EVELYN  -  ALWAYS AT HER BEST.

This coming Saturday, Nov. 8, STREETCORNER has the proud honor of being selected to be one of the featured groups for the M. F. E. A. convention.  This is the 22nd annual Michigan Festivals and Events Association Convention.  The event will be located in Kalamazoo and we will be part of the
Entertainment Showcase.  It's an enormous  honor to be selected as part of this prestigious two day event.  Although it's not open for the public, you can be sure that I will bring you all the skinny on how it went and some photo's ,................if  I'm allowed to bring my camera into the Showcase.

Have a wonderful week and I look forward to bringing you the highlights from the Michigan Festivals and Events Association Convention.
