STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS - By Jackie - 2/26/15

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS, By Jackie - 2/26/15

Hello, and thank you for reading and following our little blog about this talented group.

This week rather than talk about one event, I've opted to include two events that we played this past weekend.  Both nights we rocked and had a ball.

Saturday, February 21 we played for the Woodhaven Moose Lodge -  Dinner Dance.   This dance was a benefit for various causes that they support.  We hope they did well and were able to meet their quota for each worthy cause.  There were about 250 attendees for the dance, so it would be my guess that they did very well.  We thank them for giving STREETCORNER an opportunity to show our stuff to their members.  I personally met many of the membership and spent quite a bit of time with them.   I  received a very warm and friendly feel from each of them.  Not only did they love the music and purchase our music CD's, but they included me in their dancing.  Wow, that always makes me smile.  When my Bobby is performing,.................I am always on the lookout for a female dance partner.  Or two - Or three.

I have to say that they were wonderful.  Yet, I've yet to experience an OFF night with them.
I believe that the whole experience of being with STREETCORNER has taught me that if you
LOVE WHAT YOU DO......you will do well.  Each member of STREETCORNER loves performing and loves people.  That is part of why they come across so talented and approachable.

Sunday, February 22 we played at Duckett's Sports Pub - Doo Wop & Dinner evening.  This is our regular monthly show with Duckett's.  Duckett's is located in Pontiac and that just happens to be where our Bobby grew up.  Hence, the tremendous amount of friends that his name generates from this particular area.  It's so much fun watching friends interact after NOT seeing each other for.......
.......Wow..........many ....many years.  Yet, the stories and tales of past experiences are fun to listen to.  Well...........sometimes it makes me wonder if I should even be listening.  But, since Bobby and I have no secrets, I put these into a special category in my mind of   "Oh Well......history is just that...
HISTORY".............  Duckett's is and always will be a special place for us because we have all made new and awesome friends there.  I always look forward to going because I just know there will be some friends that I only see at Duckett's.  This makes them even more special.

Fortunately, we have friends that follow STREETCORNER to the ends of the earth.  Well, at least to the ends of reasonable driving distances.  Sometimes they surprise us with their presence when we're absolutely NOT expecting them.  That's what makes them so wonderful.

We love our fan friends and we are grateful beyond words for their love and support.
Actually, one of our fan friends turned out to be our travel agent to Hawaii for our Hawaiian Wedding Cruise.  Thank you Mary for all of your hard work.  The wedding and cruise went smoothly and we couldn't be happier with how everything that I worried about just seemed to fall into place.  It was your hard work and experience that made our Hawaiian Wedding perfect.  Even to the bottle of wine that you,  Brenda,  Nicki and Chester had delivered to our stateroom prior to our boarding.  It helped calm nervous nerves while we dressed for our wedding.  Thank you so much guys.

Wow, what an awesome group of people !!!

                                                                       My Bobby & I.

Thank you for reading our blog.  Thank you for following our so very talented group.  While i'm not part of the singing aspect of the group my contribution comes in many forms.  I love everything that I do from selling the CD's at all of the events, to handling the money, to working as the Public Relations Manager and setting up events with numerous private organizers or large community events.  It is and has been my pleasure to be a part of this talented  STREETCORNER family.

Until next week.......Have a great rest of your week.

Love & Friendship,
Jackie Carroll

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS, BY Jackie

STREETCORNER HAPPENINGS,   by Jackie   February 17, 2015

Happy belated Valentines Day to everyone.  From all of our STREETCORNER family to you.

STREETCORNER played for the Waterford Elks #810 on Saturday, February 14 for their Valentines Day Dinner Dance.  I have to say that we met the most welcoming and friendly crowd anyone could ever ask for.  All of us with STREETCORNER are looking forward to performing for this awesome membership again.

We danced, ate and had a great time.

STREETCORNER was their usual amazing selves.

Boy can they dance.  Wowie Zowie !!

This lady was the decoration person - and what a great job she did.

Oh my, what a cool couple.  Can't wait to see them again.

We met the nicest people.  Love them.
Thanks so much Harlen Lantz for giving STREETCORNER the opportunity to show off our stuff.

                                                        We all enjoyed ourselves.
Our lovely Evelyn and her fiancĂ© Kevan.

Sometimes friends that we meet along with STREETCORNER become much more than acquaintances.  They become part of your family.  Jan is one of them.  My buddy - My friend.

This is my husband Bob.....he has been with STREETCORNER for more years than I can count.
This was our very first event together as husband and wife.  Wowie !!  We have been together for over 2 years, but just returned from our wedding and honeymoon in Hawaii.  Bobby and I work together on all of the STREETCORNER events.  We each have our own roles and as you can see the blog is my prize possession.  I absolutely love bringing you all of our new events and what's going on with us.  We truly hope that you enjoy following us as much as I enjoy presenting it to you.

Much of our success as a group depends on how fans accept us and appreciate what we bring to you.
The STREETCORNER music is classy and high energy.  When you want to listen and swoon to the 50's music, all you have to do is put on one of our CD's and dance when no one is looking.
I know I do !!!   There isn't a day that I don't put on my dancing shoes or maybe just my socks and dance across the floor.  Sometimes the dogs like to join in and add to the music, but it's all good.

The next time you see me and you want to dance alone to some oldies, let me know as I always have a stack of CD's for sale.  Don't be shy,  just ask.  I'll look for you.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon.  Until then.........................
